About Us

850 Community Food is a simple, community-focused project created and maintained by one local web developer who wanted to make it easier for people in the 850 area to find free food resources. Food insecurity affects many of our neighbors, and knowing where to go for help shouldn’t be confusing or overwhelming.

This website brings together local free food pantries, including:

  • Little Free Food Pantries – small, 24/7, take-what-you-need / leave-what-you-can boxes hosted by caring neighbors
  • Scheduled Food Pantries – community-run distributions with set hours, locations, and requirements

By gathering this information in one easy-to-navigate place, we make it simpler for individuals and families to find food support whenever they need it.

Our Mission

To reduce food insecurity in the 850 region by connecting people with free, local food resources and empowering neighborhoods to care for one another.

Independent & Community Supported

This project isn’t run by an organization — it’s just me, volunteering my time to keep the listings updated and the site online. If you’d like to help offset the out-of-pocket costs of hosting and maintaining the website, donations are appreciated but never expected.

How You Can Help

  • Share information about local pantries
  • Submit updates or new locations
  • Support the website’s hosting costs with a small donation. (link coming soon)
  • Spread the word so more people can find help

Together, we can make it easier for everyone in the 850 community to access the food they need with dignity and ease.
